A lake viewing turnout, about 8 miles north of Muncho Lake village,
has area information and interesting facts, above, as well as a
stunning panorama, top. The iconic historic mile marker, right,
includes a commemorative plaque dedicated to Ernie Birkbeck. He
was a contract inspector for Public Works Canada, and oversaw the
Alaska Hwy project for 26 years. His leadership "resulted in
a well maintained highway providing safe and pleasant driving...for
travelers." Other images: examples of the lake's "striking
colour."
