The
Old Log Church was built in 1900 for the Church of England; one of
the oldest Whitehorse structures, along with the telegraph office
(see previous page).
The S.S. Klondike river steamer, built in 1929, was the largest on
the Yukon River. It wrecked in 1936; however, it was reconstructed
in 1937 and continued runs to Dawson City until 1955. The S.S. Klondike
National Historic Site is located along the Yukon River, south of
downtown. |
