Marsh Lake's north end is considered the origin of the Yukon River.
The AlCan passes here on its way to Whitehorse, top left and right.
The south shore, 20 miles away, left, is at Tagish, on Hwy 8: Tagish
Road. Here, Marsh Lake is fed by the Tagish (Six Mile) River and
Tagish Lake. They are part of the lakes and rivers sources for the
Yukon River. A sign at the Marsh Lake Dam Rest Area tells the history
of the Yukon River, especially its important role in the Klondike
Gold Rush.
