The AlCan veers northwest into the Northern Rockies, after leaving Summit Pass. The Racing River starts in the Rockies and runs north into the Toad River. Mountain flora and fauna start to appear. Marsh Grass-of-Parnassus, or bog star, above, grows along river and lake banks. Deer, or elk (?) graze on the roadside.
